About the Artist:

Starting with lead and graphite as her tools of choice, this self-taught artist brought out an uninfluenced style all her own. In 2002, a church project she developed gave her an idea that would change the course of her career. A new technique using pigment ink and fingerprints allowed her to create rough and rugged paintings that bring out the true essence of the Old West. Through time, Julie discovered that this unique texture, which can't be duplicated by any brush, pencil or pen, compliments many subjects. Julie demonstrates this technique at art shows and her paintings have won several awards including "Best of Show," as well as a national press award for "Best Illustration."
